A major project being undertaken by the Librarian of Unseen University, who is himself of the orang persuasion, is to create a Orang-Utan/Human Dictionary. Since he was also, once, a human being, he feels himself in a position to advance the understanding between the two species. This may be a problem since one of the species consists of mankind, but he is persevering.
A flavour of the work, which already runs for more than 500 closely written pages, may further illustrate the difficulties:
